Ayshea by Michelle

I’ve been shooting my best friend, Ayshea for years and always been drawn to her lively personality. Our shoots usually happen so organically. She’s the type of person to make you feel like you’ve known her for years, after just meeting her for the first time. Since it was the turn of the season, I wanted to celebrate the amazingly warm weather by shooting at our neighbourhood park around the peak of noon.

My work currently revolves around the use of colour and my subjects. I try to capture the essence of the people I shoot, hence giving them the freedom to position themselves however they so please and/or feel most comfortable. With my work, I hope to encourage people to embrace themselves wholeheartedly and really take the time to get to know who they are. I don’t particularly look for anything specific when it comes to choosing subjects, but I do enjoy shooting people who are comfortable in their skin.
