I was visiting a friend in Barcelona and we were at her place, taking some pictures. At some point, her flatmate came in and said she got tired of studying and wanted me to take some photos of her. She suggested putting on something transparent and going in the bath, and so we did. She also had these really crazy black lenses that gave me goosebumps initially.

I was always amazed by how flexible we girls are, we can multi-task, turn ourselves into a model, a stylist, an art director. I love photographing my friends because they are not professional models but they really do change into a different self in front of my lens. A quote by J.J. Powell somehow explains this mystery "It is an absolute human certainty that no one can know his own beauty or perceive a sense of his own worth until it has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another loving, caring human being".

Having a connection with the person you are photographing in which he/she can read the certainty and joy in your eyes that would make them feel comfortable and confident is one of the most important things for me while taking pictures.
