I love the colours of Autumn; the browns, yellows, oranges, and the textures of the fallen leaves. I had the idea of shooting with the autumn theme autumn 2015, but didn't feel it was the right time to shoot as it was drawing close to the end of the season, and I wanted more direction, and time to put into it.
We shot at a small field situated in a residential area in Hertfordshire. We originally planned to shoot at Hatfield House, little to our knowledge the grounds were closed, so we had to improvise and make the most of our surroundings! It was fun though. I wanted to capture the colours and tones of both models and nature. I felt that the Autumn colours would really compliment the models' skin and amazing makeup. The browns and oranges really bought out the beautiful skin tones. Myself and NarahNoire wanted to encourage the Autumn colours through the styling.
I'm really expressive and experimental as a photographer, if anything I see myself more as a visual artist. I am highly driven by Afro-Caribbean culture, fashion, art and personal experiences, so I like to portray my personality into my work. The more I shoot the more I discover about myself, which sparks more ideas! I started photography in August 2015 so I'm still learning the ropes. I firmly believe that anything can be beautiful when you look at it with love. I'm attracted to auras and vibes, so a lot of the time, the people I shoot are usually like-minded and unique.
